What DonkeyBucks is

DonkeyBucks is a personal finance management web application. It connects to bank accounts via Plaid (on the Pro tier), categorizes transactions, tracks budgets, detects recurring expenses, and surfaces spending insights. It also supports CSV import and manual entry on the Free tier.

Pricing

Free tier ($0, forever): CSV import, manual account entry, demo data, the full dashboard, budgeting tools, and spending tiers at no cost. No bank sync, no AI, no credit card required.

Pro tier ($4.99/mo or $49/yr): Adds bank sync via Plaid, AI-powered transaction categorization, recurring expense detection, the rules engine, and anomaly alerts. The annual plan saves two months versus monthly. Billed through Stripe. Cancel any time, no questions asked, no cancellation fee.

Free trial: Every new account starts with 30 days of Pro at no charge. No credit card required to start the trial. When the trial ends, the account moves to the Free tier automatically. You keep all your data. We will email you before anything is ever charged.

We reserve the right to change prices with 30 days notice to active paid subscribers. Free tier features will not be moved behind a paywall without 30 days notice.

Not financial advice

DonkeyBucks shows you your own financial data organized in a useful way. It does not provide investment advice, tax advice, credit recommendations, or any other professional financial guidance. The AI categorization feature classifies transactions, it does not advise you on financial decisions. For advice, talk to a licensed financial professional.

Your account and data

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You own your data. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your financial data.

You can export or delete your data at any time by emailing hello@donkeybucks.com. See the Privacy Policy for full deletion details.

Acceptable use

Use DonkeyBucks for your own personal finance management. Do not:

• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract data from the service in automated bulk.
• Use the service for any illegal purpose.
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person when connecting bank accounts.

Violations may result in account termination. We will tell you why unless we are legally prevented from doing so.

No warranty

DonkeyBucks is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it reliable, accurate, and useful, but we cannot guarantee that the service will always be available, error-free, or perfectly accurate in categorizing your transactions.

Bank data syncing depends on third-party providers, primarily Plaid. If those providers have outages or return incorrect data, that is outside our control. We are not responsible for financial decisions you make based on data in DonkeyBucks.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DonkeyBucks and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. If you are on the free tier, that is zero dollars, which is honest.

Termination

You can stop using DonkeyBucks at any time. Cancel your Pro subscription in settings and email us to delete your account.

We can suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms. We will make a reasonable effort to notify you first.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
