Switched AI categorization from OpenAI to Claude Haiku 4.5. Categorization quality improved and cost per batch went down.

Launched AI-powered transaction categorization with batch limits, hourly rate limits, and a database lock to prevent concurrent runs. We built these controls the hard way, after a $100-in-2-minutes incident during development. User-triggered only, never background.
